Get to know us a little better

Goju is the brainchild of sibling duo Tom and Belle Hartles.

It was our love of health, wellness and a shared gene pool that brought us together to create Goju – a homegrown wellness business born in our garage.

Our juice journey began while Belle was working full time in a corporate marketing role, and Tom was making it as one of New Zealand’s best beach volleyballers. During this time we came across a growing trend overseas – wellness shots. Wanting the product for ourselves, it occurred to us that there was an opportunity to create a local brand here in New Zealand.

We set up shop in our garage and got to juicing, often all through the night, and then we’d take our slaved-over shots to the local farmers’ markets. Soon enough, we found ourselves a small but loyal customer base.

However, as is the case with most growing businesses, there were some bumps along the way, production even had to be shut down for several months due to a critical failure in one of our manufacturing machines and with few manufactures that could take on a bottle size this adorable, we basically had to start from scratch.

In classic Kiwi fashion, we shed a single, symbolic tear, then knuckled down to come back stronger. Goju kept the same focus on condensed, functional nutrition with our turmeric and ginger shots remaining two of the strongest in the world of their kind, as well as switching to environmentally friendly packaging and employing a more sustainable production method.

We are always trying to improve and grow with our customer wants and needs while remaining conscious of our environmental responsibilities as a young New Zealand brand. 

Goju’s goal is to provide people with wellness products that are accessible, functional and sustainable. Don’t worry, our signature super-strength flavours won’t be going anywhere. We’ve come a long way since the days of juicing in our garage, but we believe the best is yet to come and we hope you’ll join us on the journey.
