It goes without saying that we’re big on skincare over at Goju. As a business focused on health and wellness from the inside out, our first point of call for healthy skin doesn’t come from serums or rose-quartz gua sha’s, it’s from the food we ingest. (Although, who doesn’t love a good facial roller?!)
Your skin is a reflection of your overall health, and what you eat plays a crucial role in keeping it healthy and glowing. A balanced diet rich in vitamins, healthy fats, and antioxidants is essential to maintain healthy skin.
Never ones to gatekeep beauty tips, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite skin-loving foods that you can find at the supermarket to help promote a radiant and glowing complexion:
1. Blueberries
These small wonder-berries are rich in antioxidants and vitamins, making them one of the best foods for healthy skin. They help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, keeping it youthful and radiant.
2. Avocado
This creamy fruit is rich in healthy fats and vitamins like E and C, which are essential for maintaining healthy skin. Avocado also contains antioxidants that help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.
3. Turmeric
Our favourite super-root is known for being a powerhouse of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, reducing the signs of aging, and promoting a brighter complexion. We recommend consuming this in wellness shot form... Obviously.
4. Tomatoes
Rich in lycopene, tomatoes are a potent antioxidant that helps protect the skin from the damaging effects of UV radiation. They also contain vitamins A and C, which help boost the skin's natural glow.
5. Fatty fish
Fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, and sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which help keep the skin moisturised and reduce inflammation. They also contain vitamins A and D, essential for maintaining healthy skin.
6. Sweet potatoes
Sweet potatoes are a good source of beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. They also contain vitamin C, which helps boost the skin's natural glow.
7. Nuts and seeds
Nuts and seeds like almonds, walnuts, and flaxseeds are rich in vitamins and minerals like vitamin E and selenium, which are essential for maintaining healthy skin. They also contain healthy fats that help moisten the skin and reduce inflammation.
All foods mentioned in this list are easy supermarket finds. I'm sure you're all already well aware of what I'm about to say next, but of course, you can eat all the healthy food your heart desires but if you’re not getting enough sleep and drinking enough water, that glow ain't happenin'.
Sending glowy skin vibes your way!
Health and happiness,
Belle xx
